We stayed at the Swan so that we could do the 8am Stonehenge trip- the staff were all very friendly and the atmosphere was homely. |

A lot can be done in 24 hours, as proven by Jack Bauer in the hit american TV show '24.' So imagine what you can do in 48 hours, or even 72 hours in one of the most picturesque and eventful areas in England. With a two or three-night stay at 'The Swan Inn' in Salisbury, you'll have access to a whole host of attractions and fascinating sights.
A traditional Inn in the beautiful Wylye Valley, The Swan at Stoford has provided accommodation and acted as a stopping off point for weary travellers journeying between Bath and Salisbury for over 150 years. Now it is a destination in its own right. From walking or fishing (The Inn has fishing rights for guests to enjoy) to visiting local places of interest such as Stonehenge, The City of Salisbury and its magnificent Cathedral, Longleat House with its Safari Park and Wilton House. And for those cyclists among you, there’s a lockable garage at The Swan which you’re welcome to use.
After a hard day’s sightseeing, it is always a pleasure to return to The Swan to enjoy a relaxing candlelit dinner. Wherever possible, the food, including handmade sausages, Wiltshire cured ham, award winning cheeses and home baked breads, is sourced locally to help support local businesses. It all adds up to an imaginative menu, a delicious combination of simplicity and decadence. It isn't short on imagination either - take for example, the dandelion and burdock trifle and the Stourhead farm faggots with onion gravy!
